Invitation for the Jamestown School Community to participate in the District Strategic Planning process

The Jamestown School Department will embark on developing a district strategic plan for the next 5 years. In Jamestown, our district strategic plan is a working document that articulates our mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives to provide a high-quality education for all students. In the last 5 years, our schools went from being categorized as Typical to a National Blue Ribbon Elementary School and 5 Star Middle School. This long-range plan will provide the framework and guidance to fulfill our mission with optimal efficiency and impact. Our focus will be on creating the “Portrait of the Graduate” for Jamestown students attending our schools preschool through eighth grade.

Our strategic planning approach is to be inclusive, collaborative, and engaging, while always focusing on our student's life long journeys. In order to produce the most effective plan, one that truly represents all constituents in our district, parent and community participation in this process is critically important. We will be forming a committee of up to 25 members representing teachers, administrators, students, parents, school committee, town council, business leaders, and community members. If you would like to submit your name or nominate another member of our community to participate on this committee please complete the online form or email Ken Duva, Superintendent of Schools. Please submit the form by February 17.

You must commit to attending the following meetings and possible reading of materials in between meetings. All meetings will be between 2.5 - 3 hours from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on March 4th, April 14th, May 12th, and June 9th, 2020

We look forward to collaborating with you as we plan the future of education for our students.
